Welcome,

I'm Alice de Vries, a visual artist living in The Netherlands. Eversince I can remember I've been fascinated by colors, textures and shapes and felt the urge to combine them into something new.

Over the years I've been fortunate to work in various areas of the artists disciplines, such as stage design, graphic design, textile design. giving classes on creativity and I've even been a bag designer. What's always running like a thread through my work is the need to create a sort of repetition, so obviously I'm a patterndesigner. That's why this has become my main focus.

In designing patterns I can start in various ways: by collecting or creating elements and arrange them, with scribbles, doodles, paintings and photography or design directly in Photoshop and Illustrator. 

My style is described as layered, subtle, graphic with a great sense of color. The patterns show a

great deal of versatility and can be used on a large scale of products.

I love the freedom of creating out of my own sources of inspiration, but also love my creativity being triggered by working within boundaries as in collaboration with clients or on commission.
